About Margaret L. Olnek
Education and Background
Margaret L. Olnek was born in New York in 1963. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 1985 and received her law degree from the Vermont Law School in 1992. Following law school, Margaret moved to Colorado and practiced with private firms in Denver and Longmont until 1997.
Business
Margaret also has a strong business background. Prior to pursuing her legal career, Margaret worked as a manager and purchasing agent in New York, and in 2001 Margaret started her own business which provides management services to small law firms.
Law Practice
Margaret's law practice focuses primarily on family law, including divorce, child custody, guardianship and adoption cases. She is trained in collaborative family law. Margaret is also available to serve as a mediator/arbitrator or parenting coordinator in family law disputes. She received her Colorado Dispute Resolution (CDR) certification in 1993 and has mediated a variety of cases since that time. Margaret has also been trained in the work of Byron Katie (www.thework.org) and uses that training to assist clients in their decision-making process.
Community
Margaret is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Boulder County Bar Association, and the Boulder Interdisciplinary Committee. She lives in Boulder with her two children and her dog, Max, where she serves as president of her neighborhood HOA.
